I just recently completed my driving course at Max Driving Academy and passed my ICBC driving test under Max's teaching. As an adult driver I was quite nervous about getting onto the road and passing the ICBC road test. Max has a great approach and starts at the basics. He is very detail oriented and ensures you understand all the rules of the road. When it came time for the test I felt very comfortable in my abilities due to Max. If you are a new driver I recommend taking a longer set of lessons so everything becomes second nature. If you have hesitations and are nervous about driving - give Max a call - you will feel confident after one lesson.

I never thought that driving can become so easy for me so soon. But Max has a simple algorithm for every piece of it from making a clear turn to a perfect parking. I passed the ICBC road test the first time and it was because Max practiced with me everything that was on the test beforehand. When I started my first driving lesson I was very nervous. But after that lesson I really enjoyed driving. After several unsuccessful classes with an instructor that was recommended to me by a friend, I started searching craigslist for driving schools in Vancouver and found Max's page. The information given in the website caught my attention and I contacted Max and we met for a 1.5 hour lesson. Max was my second instructor. By this time I was already driving in Vancouver for almost six months using my driver's license from my home country and was accustomed to the driving conditions in Vancouver. However, I was only following basic instinct while driving, looking at the way cars move in general and learning from my day to day experiences on the road. I was not aware of the actual rules of the road required for passing the class 5 ICBC driving test. I wanted Max to look at my driving first, and then comment on whether I really do need further lessons. In Max's opinion I was a good driver, but had several minor mistakes. On my first meeting with Max, I spent 1.5 hours on the road with him in Vancouver and got to know all the necessary rules of the road, he pointed out the mistakes that I made and helped me improve my driving. By the end of the lesson I felt very comfortable and confident in taking the ICBC driving test. I would like to mention that Max was so efficient in his instructing that all this was done within 1.5 hours, whereas my first instructor took three classes of 3 hour duration. I took two more lessons with Max, one a few days before the road test and one on the day of the ICBC test and I passed the ICBC driving test. I used Max's car for the road test. I very much liked the fact that Max was always on time and never charged me for time spent on discussions/conversations between us. He was always well organized. His instructions were to the point and very clear. His rates are very affordable and well worth for what you get in return. Max makes sure that time is not wasted. The quality of Max's instructing is of the best I have ever come across. I would recommend him for anyone planning to take driving lessons in Lower Mainland.

As a newcomer to the province and exposed to driving environment with different driving regulations then my previous driving experience, I found that Max carefully adapted the driving lessons stressing on my weaknesses and fine tuning all new elements in detail. To me you are one of my greatest instructors I have ever had to learn with. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience. You never seem to be mad at me in any way. I keep hearing from my friends certain teachers are very impatient or scared or not confident. I would definitely recommend you to any of my friends getting there class 7 or 5. There is nothing wrong with having you as a teacher. In fact you would probably be the best choice because a lot of the times, I can start a conversation and drive at the same time. The great thing about your teaching and patience is that you are interactive and can relate to a lot of teenagers. I'm truly glad that I chose Max as my driving instructor. My lessons were scheduled thoughtfully throughout the week,
in time for the date of my ICBC road test as I purchased the package of 10 1.5 hour lessons. It's hard to work with someone new,
especially with driving, since I've never gotten behind the wheel before. He's patient, polite, funny and he understands well

In June 2011 I passed knowledge test and started to shop around for a driving school to refresh my driving skills. I had 2 requirements, first of all instructor should know Russian, since I had problems with doing both: driving and speaking/listening English at the same time. Second, it should provide services in Vancouver area, and UBC in particular. That narrowed down my short list and Max Driving Academy was one of them. I decided to give it a try and do not regret now.
After a couple of training weeks I passed the road test for Class 5 Driver license with minimum number of errors (had only one for slow turn on the left at one intersection, but it wasn't my fault, traffic was heavy :) ).
I liked the most that instructor paid a lot of attention describing me tips and tricks of safe driving and told me how to adjust after hostile environment on the "wild" roads of the Russian Federation, which, I believe, was very helpful.
Finally I would like to say Thanks to Max once more and wish Good luck with Road test to new students.

Max Driving Academy proved to be the most affordable, convenient service for me. I purchased the 10 hour driving session package, along with the warm up and driving test option. With my instructor's patience and driving knowledge, I was able to successfully learn how to drive in Vancouver, how to pass the B.C. driver's test and how to maneuver myself around downtown Vancouver, within a short 10 hour period. Of several, the most prominent factor of the driving lessons was my instructors flexibility with scheduling and availability, as well as the feature of being picked up and dropped off at the location of your choice.
